Patagonia!

Our case study was about the Brand Patagonia and we talked about their social media strategy using website as Facebook or Youtube.
They have 160,000 fan who like the page but just 2,800 people who "talking about this". The difference is that talking about involve people with the brand, they post about it or share some information.
We observed that they have some effort to put in its Facebook strategy. The organization should more interact with the people who post, respond to them and add more updates about the brand. They are doing a good job on their website because they use interactive video about the production of their product.
In conclusion we think Patagonia's social media plan is good but they can improve it! 

"Longue vie au ROI" / "Long life to the king"

Be able to measure the Return Of Investment is essential for a company which try to use social media marketing. Indeed, as every other marketing the company allocate a budget we can easily understand that the organization wait for a positive financial impact.
The company can use are different tools in order to determine this ROI:

1) First of all they can use a baseline, the company needs just to observe the year over year change before and after using social media. It is easy to understand and implement but it is not really specific, it can be by chance than company revenue increase in the same time than social media and it is not personalized for each social media. 

2) However, create a Activity Timeline is more specific and you can clearly see the impact of each social media because you take down every action and plan that the company does. The negative aspect is the lack of real data and number using this method.

3) Using data chart; it allows to find out the variation of the sales revenue, the number of transaction and the number of new customer. It will give the opportunity to have a global thought of the impact but this tool takes a lot of time because it involves all the data of the company on a long period of time.

Other tool can be used but whatever how you will measure it every company should be aware of the importance of the ROI.

It have been essential to brand yourself nowadays, let be people able to find you and see important information about your education, your background professional and your objective. You never know when opportunities are coming and they can come online. Social media website as LinkedIn is a great opportunity to have a large professional network so you have to marketing yourself to show people who you are and what you are able to do!

BenGoals

I'm in this program because I want  improve my knowledge about management and business. I am looking for a position on an entertainment company.  For this reason, I think be familiar with social media is essential, social media give great opportunity for advertising, contact people and stay aware about the expecting of the market and the customer.
I'd like to use what I learn in this class in order to find people and to make some easy and quick deal with them. As I want to work in the entertainment field, connection and contact are really important. I need to build a great network and keep contact with it.
